Hello everyone, I recently bought and installed a Viper 5901. I received help on the instal by Kreg357 (Guy is the bomb!!) and it was all in and good to go as far as the setup of it all. I plugged the unit in and connected the negative (-) battery terminal back up. I got into the truck and started it with the key. IT WENT CRAZY! Everything that was hooked up to the Viper (Horn, lights, Starter, ect) was powered up. I turned the key off and the thing was still running and going crazy. My question is has anyone experienced this or heard of this happening? If so what caused it? Hw can I fix it? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Did you make sure you did not lose the ground connection to the brain?

Well I ran it directly to the battery, so I would imagine thats good enough.

Are you installing this in a boat?

Doesn't this unit have to have the fuses placed last?
If that's so we're back to RTFM.

Howie that is 150% my fault. It was 5am and I was on my iphone. I read your signature and thought that's what you posted. My bad, my bad, like I said...we all make mistakes Haha. To answer your question, im not sure when the fuses have to be placed. And no raigen, the unit was not purchased off of ebay.

Why are you starting a different thread on this vehicle? Your first thread, Viper 5901, 2004 ford ranger, ends after you took a apparent disasterious short cut. Go back and undo the mistake. Don't start a new thread trying to fix a mistake. Just my two cents.

I did undo the mistake. And the reason that I started a new thread is because I had a diffenent issue. It seemed as if kreg was the only person even looking at that thread, I wanted others opinions. Therefore I started a new thread so I could try and get a little more attention to the problem.

The honest reason others didn't look at your thread is the part on the first page of the instructions where it says should only be installed by official dealers/trained personnel.
Not a DIY job. I've done that clutch or similar trick many times with NO problems.
