2011 impreza outback sport

I'm getting ready to install an alarm/keyless/remote start. I'm looking for some wiring information. Since I'm putting in a remote start, I also need to know if I need a bypass module in case this car has some kind of key detection system.

I hope someone can help.

The vehicles requires a universal bypass but you can use the ADS-AL-CA for all the convenience features.

Thanks for the info. Can you give me a little bit more info on how this unit works? I've installed a few alarms/remote starts in my day but only one (2000 Acura TL) that needed a bypass. That one was simple because the bypass "learned" the code and remembered it afterward. It doesn't appear that this one is that simple.

How is this unit wired into the car? Between the car and the alarm I'm installing?

The bypass takes care of all the convenience features such as lock, unlock, arm, disarm, trunk trigger, door trigger & tach. You will still need to loose a key for the immobilizer bypass for the car since there's no solution yet for the immobilizer system for Subaru.

Depending on the system that your installing, you can wire the bypass in two options. One is a wire to wire method and this is where you wire each function of the remote starter/alarm to the bypass module wire to wire. The other is a data to data and this method only works if the system your installing is capable of the RS232 protocol that is required from the bypass module.

Not all system are capable of this protocol even though the unit has a RS232 port on it. Either way works but the D2D is quicker and less wires to connect.
