Subject: locks only with viper160xv in 01 tacoma?

Picking up a 2001 toyota tacoma, double cab v6. Doesnt have wireless for locks.
I have an uninstalled Viper 160xv, includes the 160xv box, xcrs 500m box, and 556u box.
I know its a remote start, alarm, and all that. I was just looking to hook up the wireless for the locks, dont need the security or remote start, actually I just dont want to mess around with that part of it. I was wondering if anyone knew what I do and dont need to hook up in order to just get the remote/locks function working and if all 3 boxes are needed.
thanks

You just need the control module the other boxes won't be necessary if you just want the locks. Does the vehicle currently have powered locks or are you adding actuators?

So just the 160xv box?
It does have power locks just didn't come factory with wireless so I can't just buy a remote and program it

There's no info on this site for that year tacoma, but it will be negative trigger im almost sure you'll have to test and find the two triger wires, here's what you would need
On the primary harness you are using the
Red - 12 constant
black- ground
white- parking lights (optional, but it would be better for you to connect this)
Green - Door trigger ( info in brackets above)
The small two pin harness with the green and blue wires for the lock and unlock trigger
You need the ribbon that connects the brain and the xcrs you'll be cutting the thin gauge yellow wire on the ribbon on one side and connecting to a true ignition source, the other side plugs into the brain,
you'll need to run the antenna and that should be it.

Ok I got the Red, Black, White, GREEN/ Blue twisted
Yellow wire... true ignition source would have 12v only when key is on correct?
Green wire... the manual says 'not used' (green wire from H1), what do I hook it up to for door trigger?

Yes that's the door trigger wire, and you have the ignition wire correct.

Ok, so I have searched and didnt come up with an actual answer...
What would be considered a door trigger?
Would it be the switch in the door jam that makes the dome light come on when a door is opened? Thats the only thing I can think of.
What is the main purpose to hook this wire up?
Would that cause it to not lock when the door is open?
Going to install saturday, just want to make sure I plan it all out so it goes as smooth as it can.

Connect the green to the wire on the dome light that switches to neg when the door is opened and goes open circuit either when the door is shut or shut and locked.

Those colour schematics are terribly similiar to nissans of that generation.

All the Japanese manufacturers used similar colours for ignition/start and lighting (green base) up until about 03.
The problem is the average Japanese car could be manufactured in the following places:
Japan, China, India, Brazil, UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia etc. etc.

Ok so Im in the middle of trying to hook up the lock/unlock on my Tacoma. Heres what I have so far... first is from Viper system, second is wiring in truck.
Red - constant 12v
black - ground screw
blue/green twisted - purple and the gray wire (have tried reversing them also)
yellow - ignition wire, black w/ red
green - door switch
Now what happens is when I push lock on the remote the exterior and interior lights flash once and I hear a click but locks dont move.
When I push unlock the same lights flash but twice for interior lights but locks dont move.
What am I doing wrong???

Have you tested those wires to verify they are the correct trigger wires?
