Where is the 2-way antenna for this generally installed in an 2001 BMW sedan(I;ve heard on the window but I dont want it to be visible...will a stealth location effect range)? Are there any places in the interior that need to be modified(mods that are visually or noticable or unnoticable but alter the OEM look) to accomodate this alarm? For example the LED indicator. Can the clown nose of our rearview mirror be used in cunjunction with this alarm? Lastly does anything need to be installed in the door?

I dont want my dealership to claim the alarm install voided my warranty on my window actuators since they are acting funny. I know it wouldnt void the warranty and they would have to prove it but I dont want to go down that road if I can avoid it.

Of the above questions I'm mainly curious about where the antenna goes and about alterations the the OEM look of the interior.

Does any part of this alarm have to be installed in the doors? Check out this link and look at the pic: https://www.directed.com/security/viper/viper_responder.asp
How is that antenna on the lower left of the pic going to fit behind the rearview mirrow without being obvious? Maybe they can put it in the thing in my ceiling that is supposed to hold the pressure sensor for the OEM alarm since I dont have anything in there

Magnusson Moss Act...as long as the aftermarket part is installed correctly a dealer cannot void your warranty.......

2. you can put the antenna anywhere you want....I wouldnt cause the signal would suck balls...put it on the window up high horizontally, run the cable through the headliner and down to the brain it will be less noticeable than you think....

cant edit...damn, also, you want some degree of visibilty for an alarm, which would you rather have, someone walk up to your car see a sticker, an antenna and a led and say f**k it, or bust out a window to find you have an alarm....cause trust me, the deterrent is 3/4 the battle, you dont want a theif to find out you have an alarm by setting it off cause then its too late, you want them to be deterred by the threat of the alarm well before they try anything.... ( dont get me wrong, it doesnt always work that way, but I would rather not have my windows broken again) another thing to consider is the quality of the visibility....ie: If it was me and I saw a red LED on someones steering coloum I would be like cookie cutter install, but if it was something a little more elaborte, like mutiple colored led's etc...I would think that it was a more complex install.....

just my two cents cause its not my car!
