I have a 2010 focus and i installed courtesy lights in the mirrors but then found i have no way to get into the car with the wiring. Im not the best with relays or anything is there anyway i could tap into some power in the door and use some sort of time delay switch with the door locks to have it trigger and turn on the lights pretty much when i unlock my car i want to have these lights come on and stay on for about 30 seconds

There must be some way to get to the source or path of the normal courtesy lights or signal.
Same too for the central locking control box (as an alternate trigger).

I assume that around the door/s is a switch that triggers the dome light etc. Finding the common point where the switches meet is usually where courtesy light extenders are connected.

But that all depends on what the '10 Focus has and how it is interconnected and controlled.
That's where others here should be able to help.

(And now I wonder why I Replied!)

those switches in the door glow whenever you press unlock, there has to be wires in each door to control the lights in them.

You will have to hack your way out of the doors to the lights or pick up a blue and blue/red for the indicators inside the car.

Corrections, first the best method.
Left front indicator,blue/green Smart Junction box, driver's side under dash combined with fusebox.
Black 21 way plug, F pin 21.
Ditto, pin23, grey/brown. Both pos.
Or parking lights, PURPLE / white, grey 13 way plug, pin6.
Unfortunately if you wire to the parking lights they will stay on all the time the parking lights are on.
Drill through the molex style plugs (good luck) to exit the doors, there's NOTHING in the doors you could tag on to.

Or use the unlock wire through a 528t timer triggered off the door lights, you will need a constant source in the door and 2 timers.
Or run from the above mentioned PURPLE / white wire through one time then out to each door.
What a bloody waste of time for something that would be illegal in Europe. (Indicator repeaters only)
