hello,I have a compustar 2wfm-as that has never worked properly. It was installed in my 2005 dodge ram diesel in 06 and the problem is when it is cold out the truck will not remote start,it turns over but does not fire, the bad part is,the brain thinks the truck is running and my pager remote tells me the truck is running as well, even though it is not.I had the original installer try and fix this many times by lengthening the wait time and retaching it several times with no luck.i havent tried to fix this in a couple years but recently the remote start has quit completly(starter doesnt turn over),so I need to get this thing fixed,Im working in northern alberta and really need it.

i have a couple days off this weekend in Ft Macmurray so i will try and have it looked at,any ideas?

thanks !!

An easy fix would be to connect the tach wire to the alternater and set the starter for alt sense. And possibly hook up the wait to start wire to the glow plug light.

Im pretty sure the install uses the tach wire, using the alt sense sounds like a good idea, how do i set it for that? Im going to look at the problem today, the local shop wasnt able to look at it yesterday, too busy.

Right now when i start it ,it goes through the motions except the starter does not turn over at all and the brain and pager remote tell me the truck is running ,even though it isnt running and in fact the starter was never even engaged. There is obviously a major problem with how the system senses when the truck is running because it thinks its running when it is not.i dont get any error codes either.

where can i find a wiring diagram for this system? thanks guys !

Well i spent some time checking it out today and i think it is fixed.the original installer connected the tach sensing wire to the wrong wire,a dark blue wire on pin1,when it was supposed to be a dark blue wire at pin 24 on the ecm connector.

The non functioning starter was a blown fuse that I suspect blew because the wipers were left on and they were frozen to the windsheild possibly. hopefully it will start correctly tomorrow AM !
