Hi all,

I'm after some help with wiring for a 1990 Mazda 626. I've just installed a new aftermarket alarm system into the car replacing the old one which died. I had removed all the old alarm wiring but stupidly removed a very helpful feature. The old alarm was set up so that when the car was armed all 4 doors and the hatch would lock. Upon disarm the doors would unlock but the hatch remained locked. When pressing the hatch unlock it would disarm and unlock the doors also.

How can I set this up again? I'm pretty sure there were relays involved but Í'm not sure how they were connected.

Your aftermarket alarm has to have either a second lock output or an aux output.
Take the motor unlock wire for the hatch, this wire sits on ground (earth) and will pulse pos on unlock.
Cut it.
Now take a standard 5 pin relay and wire as follows.
Aux or second unlock wire to 85
Pos via a 10amp fuse to 87 and 86.
Car side of cut wire to 87a.
Hatch (motor( side to 30.
Place a diode, 1N4004 across the coil terminals, band side to 86.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
