5902 remote aux output

I recently bought a 5902 remote to use with my 5901 brain. Everything works as it should except for one thing. My aux 1 output controls my window modules, and right now whenever I use it the output is a pulsed output. I want to change it to validity but I am not sure how. I am thinking I might need a bitwriter but hopefully there is another way. Thanks,

You need to get into the programing mode. usually open the door and press and hold the valet button until the alarm chirps 1,2,3 times depending on the function. Then press the button the number of times you want (function number) the press one more time and hold. Then when you press lock or unlock it will chirp to indicate the setting of the function. Hope that starts you in the right direction. If you read the install manual it will walk you through it. Its really easy.

yea i already tried that, and the brain is set to use a validity output for aux 1, but for some reason the remote is outputting a pulsed output.

Have you taken a meeter to the output to measure the time the output is on? Also do you have another remote to test with? I have this feeling its still a programing issue. I have never seen a remote work wrong without the programing being the issue.

no i have not tested the output but that is a good idea. I actually just ordered the actual 5902 unit today along with a bitwriter so i am sure once it is mated to the brain it was intended for all will be fine. On another note, can anyone answer this question, will the bitwriter allow me to assign the videos that come preloaded on the 5902 remote like windows, headlights, etc to corresponding aux outputs? I have always programmed my alarms the long way using the valet buttons but the bitwriter seems much faster and nicer, so hopefully it will allow me to do that.

The bitwriter only programs the functions of the alarm not the remote. You will still have to program the screen displays manually

According to the 5901 manual, the bitwriter is used to program the icon that shows up on the remote, which i think is determined by a setting inside the brain.

The Bitwriter® has the ability to fine tune certain features of the security system. These features and the adjustments that may be programmed are described in the table below.

Well I think I might have an idea what the problem may be. I have an "old" version of the 5901, and the newer 5901 units apparently have the same exact hookups as the 5902, meaning they combined the two 5 pin harness and one 8 pin harness together and made an 18 pin harness. Looking at the quick reference sheet from the newer 5901 it looks like they also changed some default programming options for the brain, and the default icon for aux 1 is pulsed output with a default output of 30 seconds.

I am pretty sure there is some miscommunication between my old 5901's brain and the new 5902 remote since the options don't exactly match up.   Can someone answer this question for me though, since i am not using the main aux channel that is linked to the actual aux button on the front of the remote (i have a hatchback and it unlocks with the doors) can I hook up that main aux wire that is meant to act as a trunk popper to my aux input for my window modules??? Does it act as a validity output? If so that would be great.
