ok so i was at my local junkyard last week and i picked up an alarm system...the python 871xp...i ordered a replacement remote for it and tried to program the remote going through the steps it tells me to...when i try to program the remote there is a long chirp...now i did some research and it says that the alarm brain is locked due to the bitwriter and my questions are....if i buy a bitwriter and try to unlock the brain is there some sort of pin code that i would have to know or enter? is there a place where i can just pay someone to program the remote? like best buy or something

Yup it might be cheaper to just pay to get it done. You won't have any code to enter if you do buy a bitwriter though.

alright so i bought the bitwriter today...my intentions are to program this remote...so i used the bitwriter to zap the alarm and i could tell everything was back to factory because of the confirmation from the siren...i then turn the car back to on and the alarm is going off but what i find weird is i hit the unlock button on the remote and it shuts off but locks my doors...im really confused...can anyone help??..lol

when you said you turned the car back to on do you mean you turned the ignition on? when you arm and disarm the system does it lock on arm and unlock on disarm?

I'm not really understanding. You zapped it and you know everything went back to factory because of confirmation from the siren? When did you get confirmation from the siren using a bitwriter? Or are you getting the confirmation when programming the remote? And does the system lock/arm and unlock/disarm properly?
