I have a Karr KA-2040 security system and am looking for the installation and owners manual.

There have been several posts about the Karr branded systems as not being very good. I have no personal experience, but if I were you I would read through the forum (and google) before installing the piece. At any rate, from how I understand it, the Karr systems are sold by a company that does dealer-installs.    Here is a link to SouthWest Dealer Services, give them a shout and see if they will email you a manual.

Not sure how you got your hands on a karr unit unless it's used. karr is exclusive, they only do dealership installs. the alarms are really basic, quick install, no siren. they have 2 modes, dealer and consumer mode. in dealer mode the dealer can lock all their cars at night with one button. when the vehicle is sold they offer the alarm as a paid option. if the customer pays then they switch it to consumer mode and it functions as a basic alarm. if they dont pay, they just deactivate it and leave the alarm in the car.

i had an interview with them once.
