I installed a Viper 160XV in my wife's 05 Focus about two years ago. Haven't had a single problem with it since I installed it. Last week I replaced the battery in the car thinking that it was bad. Worked fine after the battery replacement. Turned out the alternator was bad. Worked fine as I pulled the car into the garage.   Disconnected the battery, pulled the alternator, replaced it, then reconnected the battery. Now the blue light stays on all the time unless the key is in the forward position and the horn doesn't chirp anymore. All other functions work (R/S, lock/unlock). When I unlock it, the lights flash three times instead of the typical 2 times. I tried pulling the main plug on the brain for about 20 seconds then plugging it back in hoping it would reset itself somehow. Weird thing was when I plugged it back in it didn't try to start itself. Every other time I had done this on any install I did when working for Best Buy it would try to start. Not sure what that means and my installation manual doesn't seem to say anything about that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are probably in Valet Mode refer to the owner's manual.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

You know, I never thought about that. I never use valet so sometimes I forget they are there. I'll have to check that out when I get home. I never put it into valet mode though, so how would it have gotten there?
