To perform shutdown diagnostics:
1. With the ignition OFF, press and hold the Valet/Program switch
2. Turn the ignition ON and then back OFF while holding the Valet/Program switch.
3. Release the Valet/Program switch
4. Press and release the Valet/Program switch. The LED flashes on the control center to report the last shutdown for one minute or until the ignition is turned on.
LED Flashes Shutdown Mode
1 Runtime expired
2 Over-rev shutdown
3 Low or no RPM
4 Transmitter shutdown (or optional push button)
5 (+) Brake shutdown
6 (-) Hood shutdown
7 Timer mode/Turbo mode/Manual mode error *
8 Neutral safety shutdown
9 Low battery (voltage mode)
10 -------------------------------------------------------
11 Wait-to-start input timed out

Wiring looks OK. All wires should be verified with a Digital Multi Meter and then the connections should be soldered.
Any LED error flashes from the Viper?
You didn't mention anything about reservation mode, so assuming an auto trans. Did you program the Viper to Automatic Transmission?
Did you connect the Neutral Safety wire and connect to chassis ground or the Parking Brake? Is the Neutral Safety Switch ON?
Did you connect a Tach wire? If want to run in Tach Mode you must change the Viper programming and then do a Tach Learn. ------------- Soldering is fun!

one other thing i dont have the diagram in front of me i think its a blue/white wire it says in the installation guide that it needs a ground pulse to activate remote start and a constant ground after start for turbo timer does that need to be grounded or what

H1/10 WHITE/ BLUE(-) REMOTE START/ TURBO TIMER ACTIVATION INPUT ( Page 18 in install guide for more info. )
Not needed unless you have a turbo ( for turbo cool down ) or want to initiate a remote start from an aftermarket alarm system. Typically you will use the Viper remotes to start the vehicle. Just insulate this wire. ------------- Soldering is fun!

Do you have a hood pin connected. It could be giving you this issue. If it were in manual trans. mode it would flash the parking lights 4 times. A relay click but no flashes or anything sounds like hood pin

There has been some recent discussion about the 1999-2004 G.C. Parking Lights. Try doing a search on that issue. There are several ways to control the Parking Lights. Here is the Bulldog Security method : https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/diagrams/extrainfo/diagrams/14301_GRAND-CHEROKEE_GRAND%20CHEROKEE%20PARKING%20LIGHT%20DIAGRAM.pdf
The door locks are a pain in that vehicle. Personally I would spend the money on a iDatalink ADS ALSL CH bypass module. It will take care of the ignition transponder immobilizer, door locks, Factory alarm and provide a Brake, EBrake, door & trunk triggers and Tach signal. Much easier.

get a data module to take care of doorlocks, it saves so much time and headaches. xpresskits or idatalink. You can probably find a discontinued one on ebay for dirt cheap. Or a new model for a little more dough. If the viper is flashing the parking lights 7 times when you attempt to remote start then you need to get into the menu options and change to auto trans mode. If you do not have the manual it is available on the downloads section of this site. I highly recommend reading the programming section thoroughly so you understand how and what. ------------- Advanced

X 2 with dasbogie here but to go a stage further have you tested the outputs from your R/S to see that the lock and unlocks are performing as advertised, also isn't this a resistive 1 wire system?
I've never ever seen a faulty 451.
------------- Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

An 01 Grand Cherokee has the lock system that requires relays in the doors. Where did you connect your 451M and the relays you replaced it with? An Idata ADS AL-CA will take care of the immobilizer and locks and is easy to install
The 5101 comes in manual transmission mode and needs to be changed. did you change this? Im willing to bet that is your issue.

I agree, a single 451 won't work the locks on this truck. You need to install one in each front door, a real pita. Get a module, like the 455J. There's one on Ebay right now for 19 bucks...

so the viper is in manual mode ill have to mess with that i have a constant negative coming out of alarm module as soon as i hook any relay up they click so something isnt right the doors in the truck are a pain in the ass i do realize you need seperate ones for each door but i cant even get one to work properly
