Sorry to make this a new thread, but I didn't really find an official smart start activiation thread yet there seems to be quite a few requests for assistance creating a "Smart Start" account.

Can anyone assist me with creating my "Start Smart" account on https://www.mysmartstart.com/login.aspx?

Thanks,
Brian

I might be wrong, but how I understand it, in order to activate the smart start system it has to be initiated by an authorized dealer. Once the dealer sets up your system you receive and email that allows you to go into that site and use your system. If you purchased the smart start online, I would send the vendor that sold you the device your request for activation.

As a DEI dealer I can tell you for sure that the smart start has to be activated by an authorized dealer. If you have it installed and both LEDs are on you can take the box with the 8digit ID number to a local dealer and get them to activate it for you. they may charge you but it wont ever work until you do.

Yea, I took it to Best Buy they charged me $20. Most shops like Car Toys and Quality Audio sound who apparently employ young and unprofessional employes where totally rude when I asked if they could activate it for me which is the exact reason I don't let these children touch my car...

I find it pretty ridiculous that DEI doesn't allow consumers to activate the system them selves..

They wont give consumers tech support either. If their products arent installed by an authorized dealer the warranty is void. It makes sense as the manufacturer, but not to the consumer capable of installing it on their own. Ive actually been told by our old sales rep that if they found out we were selling DEI stuff on ebay or anything (which we dont) they would immediately delete or account and never sell to us again.

DEI will give tech support to the consumer on occasion if it sounds like u know what ur talking about! ive done it on a few occasions with xpress kit modules, python systems, viper systems, usually they will help u especially when u waited on hold for almost an hour and a half. DEI is a great company with that stuff they wont leave u hanging out there!
