98 s-10 extended cab truck
really looking for someone to draw out a complete 'connect this wire from the Viper 5701 to this wire in the vehicle' type of response?

IMO, you will get more responses if you draw it out yourself, then post any questions you have. Why not take a look at the vehicle wiring information found here and compare it to your installation manual. You will see it really is straight forward. Then post back any questions you may have. There are a few vendors online that charge for a service like you are asking for, but most 'pros' that post to this site do it because they like to help out those who try to help themselves. I really don't mean to sound offensive, but requests like yours just come off as lazy. Put in some effort then come back and ask questions.

Did the vendor that sold you the unit also sell you a bypass module? The 98 S10 requires a passlock II bypass for remote start, my preferred bypass for that truck is the IData ADS-TB-GM, but that module requires flash programming. You may be able to find a now discontinued GMBP, or GMDLBP on ebay, or even the old resistance learning bypass the 556LW. The GMBP is easier to install but can require reprogramming after you disconnect the vehicle battery or have to have it jump started.

I agree with the Twelvoltz. Do a search on this site for related vehicles, research, read, study, then get out the DMM and start testing wires in your truck.

Another resourse for wiring info:  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp

The following wires listed should get you started.  BUT YOU MUST TEST ALL WIRES!!  Wiring guides are ONLY a guide and may not be correct.

dasbogie, you are correct.  H3/7 Pink/White should be used as Ignition 2 in this case.  Typo and lack of proof reading on my part. Thanks for pointing that out.
