viper responder 350 weird problem

Installing this on a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer.

Unlocking/locking/panic works fine, chirps/siren present. Parking light output works too.

However, the alarm doesn't go off when I armed the car and open the door from the inside. I hooked up the door trigger wires to the dome light instead of the door switch...since the light comes on whenever the door is opened (did this on another Lancer and it works perfectly but not here).

Instant trigger/hood pin is installed too but no sound either when I pop it open. Motion sensor detects movement(GREEN/ red lights are present) but again no trigger.

The starter kill relay doesn't work either, car still starts when armed.

Tried programming w/ valet switch. Open door, ignition on and off, press valet but no chirp coming from siren.

There is also the 520T backup battery installed.

I'm fairly frustrated at the moment since I installed a Viper 5901 on a 2008 Lancer before w/ wiring to the same places and absolutely ZERO problems! I just couldn't figure out what could've possibly went wrong w/ this 350 install?

Please help, any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm sure some of the experts will be able to chime in, but you might want tolist out the wire connections you made.  that way you can go through each one of them to make sure they make sense.

No, the LED blinks five times for about 30 seconds when armed, then constant blinking.

when you arm it does it chirp once or more than once? you can try a few things. disconnect all the trigger options, then try triggering one at a time to see if some work ok individually. I would also use the regular door trigger versus the domelight. When you arm it the way it is now it has to wait for the domelight to go out before all zones are active. if you disconnect the door trigger and all other triggers work then you'll wanna go to the trigger instead of the domelight. also if the domelight bulb burns out then your door trigger wont work.

Arm - one chirp
Disarm - two chirps

Also, could it possibly be a brain malfunction?

The brain technically could be bad but right out of the box is very rare with DEI stuff. I would meter the door trigger and hood pin with a DMM as well to make sure they are functioning properly. The door triggers are in the brown plug at the fuse box with the trunk trigger. 4 1 amp diodes will get you going there if need be. If you still have trouble post a quick list of the wires used from the alarm and where they are connected to in the car so we can offer more help

Ok guys, here are the connections:

Viper 350 Harness
RED > gray wire on backup batt module
- from red on backup batt module to 12 volt constant (big white wire in driver's side fuse box)

WHITE > parking lights

BROWN > red wire of siren

BLUE (instant trigger)> hood pin / backup batt module

GREEN (door trigger) > domelight

VIOLET (door trigger) > domelight

YELLOW (from harness to starter kill relay to...) > yellow 12 ignition wire in car's 6-pin harness

Starter Kill Relay wires
GREEN > to orange starter wire (which is cut in half)
BLACK > to other side of starter wire)


Unlock/lock 3-pin harness to unlock/lock wires.

All wires that needed to be ground are grounded.

Easy way to check, disconnect the green wire from the wire you have it connected to now and ensure you have the hood and bonnet closed, arm the system and wait a couple seconds and ground out the green wire if the system triggers you have connected the wrond trigger wire, i it doesn't the the brain is bad, period.

Disconnect the violet wire for a start.
