Since I now know that my alarm is not actually an alarm, but a keyless entry, I need to get the wiring diagram for the truck.

It is a 2006 Ford F150, but I didn't see it on the home page.

Thanks in advance.

Also, do I need anything else other than the alarm for installation, such as a bypass module? Or should the alarm be able to be directly wired into the vehicle?

12volts lt. GREEN/ purple (20A)   +   ignition harness
Starter RED / lt. blue   +   ignition harness
Ignition dk. blue/lt. green   +   ignition harness
Power Lock pink / YELLOW   -   DKP or BCM, green plug, pin 9
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is on the driver side rear cabin wall.
Power Unlock pink/lt. green   -   DKP or BCM, green plug, pin 1
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is on the driver side rear cabin wall.
Parking Lights+ brown   +   switch or BCM, blue plug, pin 6
Notes: The BCM (Body Control Module) is on the driver side rear cabin wall.
Door Trigger BLACK/ yel (L), BLACK/ pink (R)   -   DKP, gray plug, pins 22, 23
Notes: The wiring above is for vehicles without keyless entry. Vehicles with keyless entry, the door trigger wires are found at the BCM, green plug. The LF door trigger is BLACK / YELLOW in pin 4. The RF door trigger is BLACK/ pink in pin 5. The LR door trigger is BLACK/ lt. blue in pin 12. The RR door trigger is BLACK/ white in pin 13. Use all wires and diode isolate each.
Horn Trigger dk. blue   -   switch or BCM, blue plug, pin 12

you shouldnt need anything extra for just an alarm. a bypass is only needed if you're installing a remote start

It say "Use all wires and diode isolate each".

What type/size diode do I need?
Is this only just for the door locks?
Do you just solder the diode in between the connections?

Also, on this particular vehicle, will I need relays to tap into the power door locks?

Thanks in advance.

The alarms door lock outputs will be enough. You wont need relays. As far as diodes you will need (4) 1amp or larger diodes and they will be used for the door triggers. Basically take your (-) door trigger wire from the alarm and split it into 4 wires. connect a diode to each of the 4 wires with the band facing the door trigger wire. Solder the other end of the diodes to each of the door trigger wires.

Heres a link to help you: https://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp

Scroll down and use the diagram on the left but with 4 diodes/door triggers instead of 2

Door Status diode isolation :  https://www.bulldogsecurity.com/diagrams/extrainfo/diagrams/12352_F-SERIES-LIGHT-DUTY_FORD%20DOOR%20PIN%20ISOLATION.pdf   Use 1N4001 diodes, available at  RadioShack.

No relays are required for the door lock / unlock wires if your alarm outputs the basic (-) pulse (most do).

I checked my diodes in my shop. I have several packs of 1N4004 and 1N4005. Will these also work?

1N4004 is good.

Thanks.

I never wired in diodes, so this is new, but seems relatively simple.

I was just unsure of relays, because the instructions show for negative and positive door locks. It makes it easier, since you are saying no relays needed!!!

Unfortunately, the install is going to take me all day! I just had back surgery in August, so I have ti take it slow. Going to do this, and put on a Flowmaster exhaust this weekend (if I have enough time).

Again, thanks for the info!

I got the alarm installed this evening. Everything went smoothly.

Here are 2 more questions:

1 - How can I hook the horn into the alarm? There was not a wire color code or location for hooking up to the horn.

2 - There was also not a wire color code or location for the dome light wire, so that when the alarm disarms, it turns on the dome light.

Thanks for the help on everything so far.

Here is info from Bulldog Security for the wire locations:

DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION        BLACK/ LIGHT BLUE (+)               IN DRIVERS KICK PANEL, GRAY Plug, Pin 6
This is a (+), so depending on the Alarms' output, you might need a relay to convert polarity.

HORN                    DARK BLUE (-)         @ STEERING COLUMN HARNESS or BCM, BLUE Plug, Pin 12
The BCM (Body Control Module) is located on the DRIVERS
                                                                     SIDE REAR CAB WALL.
