I've installed a Viper 5701 remote start alarm in my 2004 Dodge Ram. I used the XPRESSKIT DLCH with firmware chry3 as my truck didn't have the sentry key. Everything works great except when I hit lock on the remote it unlocks the truck and sets the alarm. When I hit unlock it locks the truck and disables the alarm. Interestingly enough when I hit the remote start button it does start the truck as well as (correctly) locks the doors.

I don't think my truck has the OEM alarm in it but I'm not 100% sure on that. I don't know how to tell. I wired the XPRESSKIT D2D and wired the door (lock/unlock) trigger to the PURPLE / green wire in the drivers kickpanel.

The DLCH directions don't talk about the Ram with no OEM alarm so I'm not sure what to set it to. I tried all of the vehical types and the only one that did anything with the locks was type 1 (with the OEM alarm turned on in the sub-menu on the DLCH):

VEHICLES TYPE

NEON / SX2.0 = 1

PT CRUISER = 1

RAM (With OEM Alarm Only) = 2

DAKOTA = 3

DURANGO = 3

The DLCH directions also say to "Connect to DARK PURPLE / LIGHT BLUE in kick panel located under dash on driver side." if it is a Ram with an OEM alarm. I did not try the PURPLE / blue wire.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I ended up trying the DARK PURPLE / LIGHT BLUE wire and it worked. Everything is operaing correctly. I still don't know if have the factory alarm installed cause I bought the truck used and did not get the key fob. At this point it doesn't matter.
