I will be installing a Python 991 Responder LC3 SST Security/Remote Start System in my 2006 Trailblazer LT 5.3 V8. I have found the wiring diagram for the Trailblazer and the Python 991 in the forum but I am having trouble finding what other items I will need to purchase to do a proper install. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently deployed in Iraq so I wont be starting the install for another 3 months so I have plenty of time to get everything in order to do it right the first time.

I live in Lincoln, NE so if any of you can suggest a good installer I may go that rout. I did check with all the local shops and Best Buy and was given price ranges from $300+ to $900+ so I would like to do it myself.

I was doing a search on Amazon and found Directed 1700G GM Door Lock and Remote Start Databus Interface Module if I am understanding this correctly this should be all I need right? Unless it will not help with the key bypass.

The 1700G will work yes, and it is all you would need. However it is a discontinued part. There are quite a few different modules that would work with your truck. My vote would be for a ADS-DL just make sure the retailer flashes it before they ship it out.

Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Thanks for the info Twelvoltz,

After looking for more info on the ADS-DL I found the DB-ALL But am having trouble comparing the two, I did notice though the wiring diagram I have for the trailblazer recommends using the DB-ALL. Any info on the choosing between the two would be helpful.

Also after looking at the install manual for the Python 991 it says "The Bitwriter® (p/n 998U)requires chip version 2.6 or newer to program this unit." is this correct?

I am new at this so bear with me here. But from what I can tell my best option is to go with DB-ALL because it is more compatible with the Python 991 via the Xpresskit D2D serial data interface and it will also read the tach on a V8 Trailblazer, that's one thing the ADS-DL will not do.

I'm still confused on weather or not Ill need a bitwriter though if anyone can clear that up for me that would be great.
