My buddy and I recently removed a Viper 500 ESP system from a car that he was sending to the scrap yard. Sadly, we didn't take as much care as we should have in removing the system and ended up missing the "pre-wired 8618 starter kill relay".

Do we need to order one of these up from Viper or can we wire up another relay to match the function of the factory unit?

Heres a link to make your own starter kill withe a relay and a diode. Probably cost less than $5.

Many thanks!

Am I correct in my understanding that the alarm system will work without this component, but you lose the anti-grind feature as well as the anti-hotwiring theft deterrent?

Yes to your last question.

-------------
Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
