I bought the audiovox ax901 a few years ago and never installed it. I'm installing it now in a 1995 Chevy pick-up. There are a few wires that I don't know if I need to use and if I do where do they go the manual doesn't give the info I need. Manual Arm Input, Manual Disarm Input, and External Start Trigger. Any help would be appreciated.

iatepaintchips-

All of these signals are optional, and not needed for a basic installation.   The signals you list are used as follows:

Manual Arm Input: This input is usually connected to a lock motor input.  This allows the AX901 to be armed by a factory keyless system.

Manual Disarm Input: This input is usually connected to an unlock motor input.  This allows the AX901 to be disarmed by a factory keyless system.  Usually this is used in conjunction with the unlock sense input, which is connected to the door unlock switch.  This will prevent someone from breaking the car window and using the unlock switch to disarm the alarm system.

External Start Trigger input: This input will initiate remote start any time this input sees a ground signal.  This might be used to test the remote start, or for a Carlink application to start the car via a cell phone.  Many of these systems, including Audiovox's Carlink,  provide a ground output pulse for use with an external start trigger input.

Thank You, I was pretty sure that was going to be the answer. The installation manual wasn't specific with those option. Your answer is much appreciated.
