I am planning on purchasing the Viper 3303 Sysyem for my 06 S. The reason I chose this one is because I have no need for remote start but need the security. The car is stored during the winter and during the summer the way I cool down my car is to drop the top. Besides what comes with the kit I will be adding the prox alarm and will be very precise on calibration for the whole system and the installation process. I have everything planned out but my two biggest issues come with the Door locks and Trunk Release. I am getting conflicting stories on whether or not I need relays for this. DEI's site says there is built in relays for the door locks and trunk release, others say I need to buy them seperately. I know the doors unlock seperately with the oem fob. One push = Driver door, 2 = both doors. Can someone provide me with the accurate info on this, who else has this particular system. Any help is greatly appreciated!

While reading many posts on this site it seems I will need a DEI 451M (Instead of 2 relays)for the door locks and a DEI 8616 Relay for the Trunk pop. Can anyone confirm this? Will this allow for one press to unlock the driver door and a second to unlock both? And does anyone have wiring diagrams? I assume the trunk release will be easy but it looks like I will have to cut some wires on the harness going into the factory door lock module under the dash.

I was also thinking maybe I do not have to diode isolate the unlock wire but just split the single wire to both unlock wires on the unlock module and when the passenger door see's the second pulse it will unlock, would that work?

Look in the vehicle wiring section, virtually all the S2000s are the same.
Funny I thought the poster was referring to a Honda Civic S type, so that's strike one buddh, not giving make, model and year.

Since your 3303 has relay driven lock outputs you won't need another relay except for the priority unlock, the lock motor wire is a 5 wire pink/black, the driver's side is YELLOW /GREEN, your existing lock wires will take care of that plus you need an 8616 for the passenger side, pink/blue, that relay triggered by aux 2.

For the trunk release, cut the wire, red and brown to a 12 amp fused constant 12V+ (or the constant feed to that lock control box) yellow to the trunk and orange to the control unit.
Your diode trick won't work, the motor wires sit on neg and pulse pos. You have to use the extra relay.
You can parallel the outputs but that won't give you priority unlock.

So with the 3303 I can directly run the unlock/lock wires from the brain to the empty pin slots on the oem unlock module is this correct? This will not allow for progressive locks but I am starting to think I don't need them.

The trunk pop looks to be easy, only thing I am curious about now is if there is a trigger for if someone pry's the trunk open will it sound the alarm of will I need a separate trunk pin. I am also not sure if the 3303 comes with a hood pin but I am sure I will need that because the S2000 doesn't have a built in one.

Join the hood pin wire to the blue trunk trigger wire and diode separate them.

You can pick up the trigger for the trunk at the light, and the 3303 does have dedicated inputs for both zones.
