i installed a skytek remote start on my friends car.everything works except when i press unlock on the keypad the lights starts flashing until i press lock.......and when i pop the trunk the horn sounds anyone have any ideas what might be causing this

Sounds like you are setting off the factory alarm- you should disarm the factory alarm when unlocking, and/or popping trunk.  Use your disarm wire from your R/S unit.

What type of bypass did you use?  I have had the same problem when installing a remote starter on that car with an Idatalink bypass. Its an easy fix. It is cause by the software on the bypass unit. It can be reflashed and the problem is solved.

you need a specific cable to connect it to your computer to reflash it

You don't nesscesarly need to relash it. When the unit is being flashed on the coumputer there is a link that is avalible on idata's website. The link describes this problem and tell you how to reprogram with use of the program button on the bypass. Do a search on idatalink'ssupport forum.
