Hi I am going to be installing a basic 1way compustar in a 2000 Dodge Dakota. I have 2 questions before I do it are..
The vehicle was just purchased used so I'm unsure if it has a factory keyless entry or if the remotes were just lost over time. The vehicle is equipped with oem power doorlocks so what kind of hook up would this be. The actual car key is an older chrysler looking black key if that helps at all.
Secondly regarding the 3 ignitions, do I just hook up the 3rd ignition like I would the second ignition with the PURPLE / blue wire relay compustar supplies. By this I mean use another relay so I would have 2 of those installed in total.
Thank you in advance!
Door locks are positive trigger, you'll need to install relays.
lock=org/pur or grn/blk (In driver kick panel)
Unlock=pink/purple
Relay
For your third ignition, you'll use the small green ignition (-) output from the remote starter to supply the prewired relay and the small black wire (out when running) to the additionnal relay.
small black wire from r/s to pin 85
pin 86 and 87 to fused 12V
pin 30 to second or third ignition.

Thank you for the help. Just to final clarify, am I converting from positive to negative for the door locks or vice versa. For the 3rd ignition the relays will be identical minus ignition #2 relay will use the green ignition out (pin 85) and the ignition #3 pin 85 will use the black out when running and obviously them going to their own ignitions (2 & 3)
One ignition relay will use the green negative out on pin 85 and the other one will use the black (negative out when running) on pin 85. One great advantage that you have it that your truck doesn't require a transponder bypass. That's why you can use the black wire for your third ignition relay.

I noticed that ya I would've guessed it would need a bypass but you are right I does not.. Kind of wish it did sone of these bypasses nowadays do wonders and make life easier lol. Which relay set up do I use for the doorlocks. Negative to positive or the other way around?
perfect thanks so much. The truck seems simple enough.. should be smooth sailing. Surprising.. a chrysler not wanting resistors lol.
