Has anyone done a remote start to a 2010 Nissan Maxima?

Getting ready to do a PSS3000 and can use a basic diagram of the wiring to reference. This car has the push to start button.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check out the Fortin EVO-ALL install guide :  https://ifar.ca/en/download/2774/preview.html  It has pictures of the connectors and wiring diagrams for their bypass module.  Fortin bypass modules come pre-loaded with firmware.

Another option are the bypass modules available from iDatalink.  Look up your car and download an install guide to see their solution.  https://www.idatalink.com/support/helpdesk

You will need some diodes and relays for the install.

Perfect!

Downloaded both files. The idatalink install guide is sweet. Thanks for the help.

If it's your first push to start install, you're in for a ride. A few things about the maxima 2010. Most of your connections are done at the car's computer so if you connect any of the wires to the wrong pin, you can image what will happen. So if you do it, make sure that you're not to be disturb and that you have your full attention to the job. I use the Idata link ADS-AL-CA which works great. Make sure you count the pins on each plug and confirm with the Idata link book for colors. Second, you'll have to connect 1 negative ignition wire and 1 negative starter wire, isolate with diodes or you'll have unwanted sensors lighting up in the dash and you might end up with cruise problems. Third, the arm and disarm are most like not present in the plug, you'll need to use diodes to make you connections directly in the empty pins at your computer's connector. You'll have to make sure that you count the pins properly because you won't have a wire nor a color to refer yourself on. Fourth, the BCM is behind the cluster, you'll have to remove the cluster to give yourself access. I did a 2011 this week and the screws are simply a nightmare to remove, I can't remember if they are the same on the 2010. To remove them, you'll have to go from underneath with some vice grips to unscrew them from behind, not an easy task but doable. I don't want to scare you but I do a lot of push to start Nissan's and Infiniti's and I just want you to be prepared before you start. Not complicated when you're trained to do it, but if you're not trained, be ready to spend a day or so on the install. I'm fully trained with 18 years of experience and it takes me between 2.5 to 3.5 hours to do one. Fifth, you'll have to install a relay in the engine compartment and you should not overlook it. If not install, the car will still start but it will also start in drive which is very dangerous. So you'll need a total of 5 diodes and 1 to 3 relays. One for sure for the engine compartment and the 2 others will be used only if your remote starter does not give you a negative ignition and a negative starter output. Best of luck.

I check the pss3000 and I noticed that it's a Directed product with the smart start module. On that remote starter, you will have your negative ignition and starter outputs (pink & purple). Make sure you add a diode to both wire. To activate your smartstart module, you'll need to go to a directed dealer because there is a password required to get into the activation website and only us dealer have the password. Also, I found out this week that when you self install a Directed product, there is no warranty on the unit. Good luck.

10-4 on the diodes. Thanks for the tip. I went over the diagrams I downloaded and it looks pretty straight forward so I'm hoping not to run into any big issues. Not worried about the warranty and Ive already done a few smartstart activations myself so I'm good there. Thanks.

I found that on the 2011 Nissan vehicles with the iDatalink modules, if you don't install the relay in the engine bay, the system won't remote start. Just an FYI and also I agree with Sylvain on the new Nissan platforms with the Intellikey.... not for the faint of heart. If you mess up with this vehicle..... you mess up BAD !! Not to deter you from this installation but becareful. Just did a 2011 Murano on Thursday and took about 2 hours from start to finish. Vehicle is the same as the Altima & Maxima's.

You're right Jeff, Nissan's with the intellikey are fun to do and even easy to do when you're trained and you do this professionally. Take your time and follow each wire to it's proper pin position.
