Hello all, I am installing a Viper 5901 into a 2009 Honda Accord.  I am using the DBALL for the bypass.  When I connect the 4 wires to the DBALL (as per the instructions) and then insert the D2D wire while holding the programming buttone to initate the programming sequence, the LED on the DBALL turns orange like it is supposed to. Then when I let go of the button it should turn solid red (and it does).  Then I turn the key to ignition, and the light stays solid red (the problem).  This indicates (per the trouble shooting guide) that the pink ignition wire from the DBALL is not connected.  The pink wire is connected to the large blue wire coming out of the ignition switch on the Honda.  The Tan wire is connected to the blue CAN low wire, the tan/black wire is connected to the pink CAN high wire, and the ORANGE / black wire is connected to the lt. green IMMO data wire.  When I turn the key to ignition, the cars large blue wire from the ignition powers up and so does the pink wire connected to the DBALL.  But the red led never turns green to initiate the programming sequence.  Any idea's on what I can do?

Did you solder your connections to the vehicle CAN and IMMO wires? The bypass will 'start' programming but needs to identify the CAN bus if these connections are not good it may not be able to program.

Did you flash the module yourself? Maybe a re-flash would help.

They are soldered and the module was up to date per the seller about 1 week and a half ago.  The bypass led light stays red and never goes to green to start the programming.  I can try and take it somewhere to have it flashed.

I checked, you don't need to connect the pink wire to the ignition wire since, according to the instruction manual, it passes through the D2D connector. I that still does work, re-flash the dball, this installation is pretty straight forward.

Good luck

Thats what I thought.  It looked very strait forward when you look at the installation paperwork.  It does say to hook up the pink wire (pin 9) to an ignition source that is hooked up to the remote start.  That is what I was trying to do.  I dont know why it is not letting me program it.  I will try and find someone to re-flash it for me and see what happens.  Thanks

I presume that you're connected to the orange plug of the Viper? I think that the module needs re-flashing. Have it done and you should have no problem after. You seem to have done all the proper connections. One thing you can try is making all the w2w connections and try re-reprogramming it. Maybe there is a problem with the data line. That mean that you'll have to connect 12v, ground, out when running, lock, unlock, trunk, brake, hood and ignition.

You know what, just connect 12v, ground and ignition. Leave all the other harnesses plugged to the dball except for the data d2d wire and try to reprogram the dball and see what happens.

Which orange plug on the viper 5901:

-H1/12 (-) 500mA  ground when armed output

-H3/3 (+) acc output

-Remote start auxiliary output, 5 pin connector - (-)200 mA accessory output.

I will try and have the module reflashed too.

The d2d data plug...orange color or even light red.

I did plug in the d2d plug from the DBALL to the VIper.  It is a 4 wire plug: (+)12v, RX, (-) groung, and TX.

There is a ORANGE / black wire for the immobilizer data that is hooked up to the lt green wire in the car.

I got all of the alarm functions to work, but the remote start does not work.  The error on the remote just says "remote start error".  There are no flashing parking lights, but the viper makes 8 clicking sounds.  There are no flashing lihts on the dball either.  The green light flashes shen I arm and disarm the alarm, but nothing when I try to remote start the car. Any ideas?  Thanks

you're in manual transmission, change settings for automatic transmission. I think that it's in menu 4. It comes factory in manual.
