smartstart cs5000, 2004 f150?

Sorry, couldn't come up with a more descriptive subject...

A couple of days ago, I had a new DEI CS5000 installed in my 2004 F150. I'm pretty experienced with DC and probably could have done it myself but the install fee was pretty reasonable and I don't have a garage.
So far, most of it seems to be working well with the exception of a minor glitch that I have an appointment to address.

The manual has very little information to offer and there is virtually nothing online. I downloaded the manual from here and still haven't found what I'm looking for so:

The CS5000 is a Smartstart module, presumably an alarm module and some harnesses. I'm curious as to which alarm module it actually is. In other words, if you were remove the Smartstart transponder, what would be the equivalent security system you'd have? I'm curious because I may want to add some functionality in the future, namely a tilt sensor, some pins for the canopy and tailgate, etc or I may decide that Smartstart is a stupid gimmick and I'd rather just have a two-way remote. I'm guessing that it's likely a 5x00 judging by the model number.

Next question: I had my dash apart yesterday to work on my Avic Z120BT. I wanted to remove the XM module so I can sell it.
Anyway, the installer kinda man-handled the LED and the anode lead broke off as I was pulling off the dash bezel. I'm curious if the included LED is pretty standard and gets 3 volts or if it has an internal resistor so it can take 12 volts? I'm not going to ask him to replace the LED since it came apart because I was monkeying around in the dash.

The CS5000 is equivalent to an Avital 5103. The option is there to add an antenna and remote. The kit that is available for the smart start systems comes with a one way remote and standard antenna, but you can get a 2way remote. Just make sure you get the specific antenna that goes with the remote.

You can add sensors to the instant trigger input and diode isolate them.

The LED is your average LED not a 12V of any type. Your installer will probably have one laying around and would probably only charge you a few bucks for it.

Excellent, thank you. A 3-4 volt LED from Radio Shack worked just fine as a replacement. Also appreciate the recommendation regarding a 2-way if I decide to go that route.

Next thing: Maybe I can save the installer some time and me the hassle of arranging transportation. Got a weird glitch:
If I start the truck with either the fob or the phone app, the alarm system will not respond to any commands from the fob. It will only respond to the phone app. Once I get the truck to shut down it will then respond to the fob as usual, unless I start the engine.
