I have a '06 Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible GT with the 2.4 High Output turbo engine with Boston Sound and Factory keyless entry and factory alarm. I'm in the process of installing a Avital 4113 remote start as well as a Directed 556uw interface module. The problem i am having is that i want the 4113 to remote start the car. Nothing more, just flash the park lights and for them to stay on till i insert the key. I want to maintail the factory keyless entry transmitters to lock/unlock front doors/open the trunk. I also went with the 4113 for it's timer ability as i plan to use it to keep the engine running for a few minutes after i exit the car to cool the turbo down. So i am guessing that i will only need a few of the wires attached in the kit. I might consider it(4113) locking the doors on remote start.

I have a wiring diargam for the car. The Main power wires from the 4113 are a lot thicker than the factory wires in the ignition switch, so am i right by guessing that to solder all connections and wrap them in good quality elec tape is the only way to go? My other question is about the placement of the transponder ring on the 556uw. The ring is way to big and think to fit infront of the factory transponder and still be able to push the key in to remove it. Would the ring work if it was glued to the steering wheen cover infornt of the factory transponder?

 Any input is welcome!

For your key ring problem, you should consider making your own with 18 or 20 gauge wires. You should consider getting the Xpresskit DBALL module. It controls the transponder, door locks, trunk release, factory alarm and is very easy to install. The avital unit and the dball module communicates via a data wire meaning that door lock/trunk/alarm/brake input will be communicated through this magical wire thus eliminating a lot of wiring.

"➢ D2D
The system has the ability to interface with an Xpresskit module through
the D2D port. The advantage to using a D2D interface is that there
is less wiring involved in the installation. Check the Xpresskit module
installation guide to determine which wires are not needed, and which
options are available. For more information see www.xpresskit.com. "

The 4113 is a 1 button system. It will unlock if needed but the PT factory remotes work during remote start. I wouldnt spend the money on the DBALL if it were me. When using a 556U I normally use duct tape and tape the ring around the edge of the transponder ring. the duct tape will hold it in place but wont ruin the ring like glueing it would.

You're right, my mistake 556u will do just fine. I use 2 way tape underneath the key ring then secure it with electrical tape over it. same idea.

cheers
