Car is a 2003 Mazda Protege 5

Viper 5701

tach to violet/white at diagnostic connector
neutral safety to parking brake
brake shutdown to grn/yel at brake

Car will not remote start. When I try to enter it into manual transmission mode I can go through the whole sequence. parking brake, release foot brake, remove key (engine stays on), exit vehicle and then arm (which shuts the car down) a few seconds later the two way remote will buzz back with an error code.

I don't know if the clutch bypass has anything to do with it at this point but I'm pretty sure it's hooked up properly. 12v to 85, violet rs (-) output to 86, common (-) to 30, and then 87 to clutch bypass. I don't know if I have to diode isolate the violet rs wire but it isn't.

I'm a little iffy about the tach wire. Every resource I've found online says it's this wire. It reads 6.82 volts AC while idling and barely changes with engine revs. However I can program the tach signal off of this.

Figured it out. I used a bitwriter for the programing and for some reason it never stuck. It was still set to virtual tach mode. Also I could not manually enter programming mode. I double checked the ignition 1 wire and it must have been not connected properly cause once I taped it back up I was able to enter programing mode. Everything works fine now.
