Is this product for real?

Does it really do what is says..

 ( i.e. bypass transponder chip keys )

if so whats to stop the criminal element from using one of these?

sounds like a bad idea to me

First off they have to find the key and the transponder module. Second, they have to reconnect any of the wires they ended up cutting to get to the transponder module which disables the ignition if any wires are tampered with and not reconnected to allow the chip to receive the proper signal on the anti theft module.

These are temporary bypasses for remote starts and if the installer is a good installer, they will hide the module in unlikely spots where a theif will not normally look for the key ( ie, behind glove box, in the center console or underneath stereo.
