I have a customer coming in tomorrow night and I am doing an install on his 2000 Pathfinder, I didnt even think twice about it and assumed i could use an iDatalink ADS-TB as a bypass. I have done tons of Pathfinders but the oldest one was an 03 can someone please let me know what is out there that i can use other than the old key in the coffin. Thanks

I would tell the owner that there is a possibility that they may lose a key. But I am pretty sure you don't need a bypass module in the 2000 Pathfinder. Been a long time since I did one that old but I am thinking only the Maxima and Sentra had a transponder in 2000. If it does have one, a coffin bypass is going to be the only option. Post back after the job is done and let us know if it had a transponder.

I believe that you're right, I don't think that there is a transponder in that vehicle. You'll probably have a factory alarm to control.

There was a Data Override Bypass made by bypasskit called the PKN and rebadged by Omega called the IBN. It only used one key to program. Somebody is selling it on Ebay. Just a heads up, the PKN2 is not the same and is for 2001+ Nissan's. I also kind of remember not all nissan's had a transponder. If it did, there would be a small blue rectangle on the black head of the key. Where the metal shaft of the key leaves the plastic keyhead.

If your pathfinder is a 2001 disguised into a 2000, DEI as the XK05 with the PKN2 firmware. I just called DEI, in 2000, it is really miss and match...some 2000 pathfinder will work with the xk05 and others only with the key in the coffin. If it would be me, I would try the xk before the box because I have both in stock but if you don't...go for the coffin to avoid getting your customer mad again.

No problem, i am hot on the trail of a Omega IBN which is designed for the 2000 Pathfinder, I think like the other guy said it took the place of the PKN, I have a dealer out here who may have one and if not a place in AZ has 10 of them. Thanks for your help

For an oldtruck like that you can carfully remove the transponder from the key. Pull out the blue partof the key and the blackchip is the transponder. Secuer it to the ingntion antenna ring and you are all set. Be sure to remove the transponders from any other existing keys for thatvehical. As the car will not start if it detects 2 transponders at once. This is a cheap easy way to eliminate/bypass the security with out giving up a key.
