Can the batteries in the re-chargeable remote be changed? I would like to think yes, because i have a customer who has had hos system about a year or so now and his battery is toast.

I've opened one of those units before, only to find that the battery cannot be changed out. They use a proprietary rechargeable battery.

3.7Volt  130milAmp

About a 1/3 of the size of a stick of chewing gum.

I dont know if you can find something like this somewhere, but I guess anythings possible.   But If it's only a year old, you should be able to send it back to DEI under warranty.  Because it should last longer than that, unless it was damaged.
