      Installing an audiovox remote start (620n I believe). Installing into a 2001 dodge ram 2500, v10, 4x4.

Install is complete and all is working, with exception of factory alarm disarm. I have located the light GREEN/ orange wire under the dash, in the control box to the right of steering shaft. I have a 1500 ohm resistor and another relay ready to go.
My problem is, I am not sure this is the correct wire, and I am cautious to connect relay and resistor to this wire.

I cut the wire and locked the doors with the door switch. Shut the door and the alarm armed. Initiated the remote start and the alarm sounded. All this with the wire cut.
I checked this wire with volt meter, there is 9 volts dc at rest on the controller side of the cut wire.

Is this correct, or do I need to find another wire? If so I need advise on how to test for the correct wire.

 Thanks
 Lew

While you might have the correct disarm wire, Bulldog and Audiovox list it as in the Drivers Kick Panel, in the harness that goes out to the door.  Hopefully there will only be one Light GREEN/ Orange wire in that harness bundle.    ------------- Soldering is fun!

Thank you for the reply. Yes it is listed as in the door kick panel, and quite possible I will have to get it there. However, it also lists the door locks in the same kick panel. With some research, and tracing the wire bundle it appears the wire harness from the kick panel terminates in this control box under the dash to the right of the steering shaft. This is where I tapped the door lock wires to install the relays. I figured it would make sense that the alarm disarm would follow and stay in the same harness bundle terminating at the same control box.
 Thanks again
 All advise welcomed

The light GREEN/ orange with a 1500 ohm resistor will disarm and unlock the doors. Does the alarm go off when you remote start? If not dont worry about the disarm. If it was me I would use the arm/disarm wire for my keyless entry to have the factory alarm arm/disarm when locking and unlocking but most dodges dont go off when remote starting.
