Looking to install an alarm in a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country with fobik's + WIN and factory remote start.  Is there a way to install an alarm that will be controlled by the factory remotes? Seems like one of the CAN enabled bypass units could be used with a compatible alarm+remote start if I just left out all of the remote start connections. Documentation for the Xpresskit dball indicates that it can control an aftermarket alarm with the oem remotes.  Has anyone done this?  Does it work?

Check out the Avital 3001. Its a factory alarm upgrade and easy to install.

Or the Pursuit PRO9233N. Either one will work off your factory remote...

My question is this.  Can any of these units be wired using one of the plug and play bypass units?  For example, the dball unit has a "Y" cable that simply gets inserted between the WIN and the vehicle. It seems to emulate all of the outputs that you would normally use to wire an alarm. The van already has remote start, so I don't care about the actual bypass functions.  However, if I can use this to trigger the alarm, there would be no need to cut any wires.  This is a 2010 model with transponder keys.  The van isn't going anywhere.  I am not worried about flashing lights or anything, only making the siren go off.  My goal is simply to deter the (next) criminal looking to take the $2000 factory radio system that I am now replacing.
