I had a hornet 564t installed in my truck from a certified installer shortly after getting the truck new. Recently the truck will not  remote start. The two way pager says inhibit and also shows the hood being open. I have looked for a hood pin switch but can not find one nor do I ever remeber seeing one under there from the day it was installed. Where I had the system installed was sold over a year ago and they no longer do alarms and remote starts. Does anyone know what the problem could be and where and what I should be looking for? Thanks!

Sounds like the remote starter thinks the hood is open.  To test, locate the 564T, then find the Gray wire at connector H3 Pin2.  Temporarily cut this wire.  Make sure the cut side going to the 564T is not touching chassis ground and then try a remote start.

If it starts, then follow the Gray wire.  It could go to the BCM or thru the firewall to a hood switch.  Check for any missing insulation and grounding along the way.

BLACK PLUG PIN #17, NOT ON ALL MODELS

Located the brain of the alarm and cut the gray wire but no luck. I tried several times and it did start once but then was back at inhibit. Any other suggestions?
