Hello all,

I have a 2001 525i BMW and I am looking to install a remote start/security system. Problem - when I purchased the car, I was only given one key. I was recently told when I began shopping for a remote start/security system, that I had to have 2 keys in order to make it work. Is this the case with all BMW's and remote start?

Seems everything can be complicated when you have a bimmer!

Thank you in advance....

Obtain the grey valet key from a dealer, it's much, much cheaper than the regular key and use that in a 556 by-pass, in fact the 556 will ONLY work with the valet key in a BMW.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
