My friend and I both recently installed Viper 5901's in our trucks.  We each changed the programming to require 2 activation pulses for a remote start.  It works on the activation wire, but they will no longer start with our remotes.  I'm guessing we have to update the remote to match the 2 count, but I didn't see it in the manual.  I'm sure I'm just overlooking an easy answer.  Anyone have the answer?

If i remember right, when you change that setting it also changes it for the transmitter. You will have to push the remote start button twice.

The manual says that it changes it for the wire, and for the remote.  When I click the remote start button the first time, it automatically tries to send the command to the car.  So even if I press it twice quickly, it starts to send the command after the 1st press, and still fails.  Maybe I have to re-pair the remote to the car?

Yup. You need to hit remote start button twice. Press once...wait one sec...press again.

buddholly is quite right, learn to leave a 1/2 second gap between pressing, oh and by the way it will drive you mad, you'll soon change it back.

With my Clifford 50.5x I have found that the easiest way to start my truck with the activation set to "2" is to either climb a ladder or kneel down. Simply pressing the button twice, leaving any amount of reasonable time, doesn't seem to reliably start the vehicle. However, EVERY time I bend my leg in an awkward way within range of the truck it will start every time.

There you see; I told you so, Mr. P. has already been driven round the bend.
