just a brief explination, i recently got my car back from the body shop cuz i got rear ended. they replaced it with a new trunk and rear bumper. before i hand them the car i put it in valet mode. now when i got it back it was on passive mode. the problem is everytime i lock the car, it locks but theres an indication on the remote that theres a door open. so everytime i put it on reservation mode, prior to openning the door, the car shut down right away then locks the car and showing on the remote key fob that theres a door open, but i didnt close the door yet. thats why it wont remote start. what do you guys think is the problem? any suggestion is highly welcome. thank you

yes the dome light is working fine. diode isolate all the doors to.

it seems that whatever the body shop did is causing the alarm to think that one of the doors are open (dome light, trunk open, or trunk light).

you will need to look at your alarm inputs (door, dome light *if used, and trunk).

it depends on how the alarm was wired.

and i have now idea how it got into passive mode. putting the vehicle in passive requires a remote.

Take a meter and check your triger wire at the alarm and see if it really is seeing something open, or something sending a trigger to it.

Check and see if there is ground on the door triger wires when the door are open, and goes away when the doors close. You could do short detection on the meter and put one lead to a ground.

the installer might have used a data bypass, or hardwired everything. if it was hardwired, pull out the DMM (digital multi meter) and put red to a constant 12v + source, black to the trunk wire or door wires and test them all.

the meter will show 0v, and if the trunk, door, or hood is opened, the meter shall read 12-14v dc.

if there is one that is always showing 12v, that's where your problem is and you can isolate it.
