I just installed a Viper 211hv keyless entry on a 99 Toyota Rav4. All the diagrams say that the ign wire is a small guage BLACK/ white wire in the ign switch harness. I tested said wire and it shows nothing with the key off, and 12 volts with the key on. So I connected to that wire. The customer called me the next day saying the locks were going haywire while driving. They kept locking and unlocking. I checked the splice and it had a good connection. Took it for a test drive, yet it did the same thing. The ign controlled doorlocks keep randomly locking and unlocking when the engine is running. I suspected a faulty connection again, so I cut it off then redid it this time with solder and heat shrink tubing. Still the same problem persists. I ended up cutting the ign wire off and now everything works perfect except she now has no ign controlled doorlock. Am I missing something here? Is there another ign wire I should try? Or maybe the accsy wire?

Also, its a manual transmission if that makes any difference.

There are two ignitions, the correct one is BLACK / YELLOW, also you MUST solder all connections.
Also check your grounds, it also sounds like a faulty ground to me.

I double checked the ground too. Everything works fine until the vehicle is driving around.

Then use the BLACK / YELLOW.
