I know there is a section in the FAQ about this, but I just want to make sure I will use them in the right spots. I think they go in any cicuit with a light in it so you won't keep blowing the light. Is this correct? With the Clifford Avantguard 4 alarm I have they give you 20 diodes, but the instructions only tell you where to use 2.

Hi michaelrc51, no, that is not correct. The most common uses for diodes with alarms are to isolate two or more door triggers, to isolate two or more sensors, and to isolate door lock/unlock outputs, as well as protecting relay contacts from voltage spikes. There are many other uses for them, but none that I can immediately think of to protect lights.

Many systems out on the market supply you with OPTIONAL installer equipment. If you use it you can but it will not be necessary for the unit to operate properly.

I have the Clifford Avantguard 4, it has remote start and a ton of other options, I also added smartwindows. Do you know of any other part besides the door trigger that would need the diodes put in? The windows are wired with an input and output going to the module so I don't think it is necessary there. The trunk and hood trigger might need it also. What do you think?

In the install manuals for the alarm it says to refer to other sections in the binder like for the different types of door switches, door triggers , and etc. I can not find this info anywhere on the internet and it was not included in the download of the manual. Seeing as I am not a Clifford installer I do not have access to this info. Does anybody have the info and could send me them? Or maybe just tell me where I can find them myself?
