08 sienna, viper 5901 parking lights

Hello,

I just had a viper 5901 installed in my 08 Toyota Sienna and everything is working fine accept that when I arm and disarm the parking lights don't blink when car lights are set to auto but does work when lights are set to off. The fuse has been installed that many forget to install in the 5901 main unit. The Sienna has automatic headlights that turn on when it's dark out and on the steering column you can manually turn the lights on or not have the automatic feature on. When automatic lights is off then the viper will flash the parking lights as it should but when I switch lights back to automatic the lights will not flash with Arm/Disarm command. The installer told me that there is only one wire for the parking lights and that's just the way it is? The parking lights do turn on when I autostart the car after about 15 sec as its supposed to and is something you can program to turn on off with autostart function even of lights are set to automatic. Any assistance would be appreciated as I have some technical abilities and can make changes to the wiring if needed. Thank You in advance for any assistance

Purple (-) at the headlight switch is for Autolamps.  Putting a ground on it will let your - parking lights work when the switch is in Auto position.   Tell your installer this.

Thank You for the reply. I knew there was a way to do it. I won't be reaching out to the Installer as I found him on craigslist which was my first mistake. Everything is working now. Temporary I tapped into the hazard lights and that does the trick too except if you want the parking lights to be on when the car has been auto started the lights blink ;-) I prefer not to have the parking lights go on with autostart so I disabled that feature via remote.   Couldn't get virtual tach to work so we went with voltage sense which for the time being is working fine. The installer had to come back the following day as he said I had the wrong bypass when in reality I didn't need to and sent it back for a PKALL.

Use voltage sense set to .08 or 1.0 sec and you should be fine.

Dont know the color off the top of my head, but the tach should be in the OBD connector.

Tach should be a Black wire at Pin 9 of the OBD2 connector.

I'm having some odd false alarms with the warn away going into full blow alarm when the car is armed and auto started. I have the shock sensitivity on the 5901 set to 5. Now it may have something to do with our dogs being in the car but they are in the back of the vehicle and it's possible they are moving around but can't imagine enough to cause the alarm to go off. I have been changing some settings with some of the custom features as I was trying to get the virtual tach to work with no luck and have it set back to Voltage sensing. I'm going to do tach learn as the wire is located at the ECM behind the glove box. Not sure if the voltage sensing is causing any issues but the car did restart once after it had been running for about 5 minutes. I had the vehicle armed for an hour or so and then tried to auto start and and the horn went blaring which that was a first and wondering if I may have changed a setting to cause this. normally when the viper goes off I don't hear the horn. I had a bad install from someone who apparently didn't know what they had been doing so I'm finding new issues but have all the documentation and think I can resolve them. Any help is appreciated

Factory alarm not disarmed/key sense?.
