I am trying to install a Viper 5902 in a 2010 ford E250.... I cannot enter the programming mode to take it out of Manual Transmission and switch the flex relay to accessory 2. Opening door H1/8 is connected (diode isolated), Turning the ignition on and then off again (Pink H3/1 connected to WHITE/ Orange), press and hold the control button, and i don't get any chirps to enter the menus.

Now I know the brain works, as well as the control button / antenna. ( i have put both pieces in my Toyota as i have the same alarm in that truck, and i am able to get into the menu, so it must be a wiring issue.) Everything is connected except the tach and brake wire, which according to my research shouldn't stop the alarm from entering the programming mode.

All the door triggers work fine but also I cannot put the alarm into valet mode manually, which how i understand it, the door trigger (H1/8) isn't required. So that would point me at the ignition wiring. (i can place it in valet using the remote)

I have checked the ignition wiring and the pink (H3/1) wire goes to 12volts when the ignition is turned on, back to ground when turned off.

Also i am able to pull the long term event history -> ignition off, press and hold the control button, turn the ignition on and release the control/valet button, then press the button again, the LED will flash showing the zones that were tirggered.

Any ideas what i am missing, the alarm part all works fine, chirps, door tiggers, LED flashes when armed? Any help would be greatly appricated!

Take the green door trigger and ground it.

Thanks for the reply. Last night I tried to ground the green door trigger and still can't get into the menu.

What if I disconnect everything except Power, Ground, H3/1, H1/8. and the control button/antenna. Would that be the bare minium to access the setup menus?

Did you ground it before the diodes, just in case you have the diodes the wrong way.

Strange, you should be able to access programming, do you hear anything from the siren when you try to program?

Thanks for the reply. Nothing from the siren when trying to program. The siren works... it chirps when locking/unlcoking the doors etc..

Ok resolved this issue...

Hard to believe, but the cable between the brain and the antenna/control button is defective. I pulled the one out of my truck and used that one, everything works fine, i could get into the menus and program the alarm.... Now everything works!

I will have to check to see why the cable is bad, i didn't run it so its possible the owner crushed it somewhere!! lol
