Hey how's it going, so on a 2003 G35 Sedan, I did a Viper install, worked perfect for months. Then finally the remote died, charged it back up tried to use it and now it keeps dieing after a push of a few buttons. Bad battery, is there a way to replace the battery?

I tried doing the valet learning procedure with another Viper 5901 remote I have for my 2008 Civic, but that doesn't work. Can anyone properly walk me through on what to do next? I lost the spare one way remote too so now I'm screwed lol. I watched the youtube video, read the manual, done everything. Programming my civic's viper remote won't work. And yes, everything is wired correctly as I used valet mode before and programmed double pulse, etc.

What are my options besides replacing the entire brain or buying a completely new unit because that's really expensive lol. I figured if my civic remote isn't working, buying a new remote might not help me.

What type of remote are you trying to program one way or two way? I don't think you would have to swap an entire unit because the brain went bad,

I made a mistake in my previous post, I meant to say if the remote is bad then no need to swap the brain.

Is the new remote you're programming functional? Have you checked all the antenna connections and so forth?

You need to reset the battery on the remote, these remotes are finicky.
Press & hold the lock & unlock buttons, and with the charger already plugged into the wall, plug the charger in & out of the remote several times. After a few times the screen should light up & beep.
Its happened to me a couple times.

The alarm brain has nothing to do with the remote working or not, its all in the windshield antenna. Try unhooking the antenna for a while, reconnect it & then try again.

beware.... from the 5901 install manual..

When the learn routines have previously been programmed using the

Bitwriter, they may have been locked. Before proceeding with reprogramming

the learn routines, they must be unlocked with the Bitwriter

- this cannot be done manually with the Valet switch.

Viper remote dead.
I know it has been a long time since the original post, however, I was trying to figure out how to get the display back on the 2-way remote of a brand new, out of the box, viper 5706 alarm. At first It did accept a charge,, all 5 bars or so, and buttons worked, set it down, *thought it was weird that it didn't turn off after several minutes, but display stayed on. Next day, blank screen, doesn't matter which button I push, nothing. Charged it overnight, nothing. Haven't even installed the alarm and can't get the remote to do anything. E-mailed seller, yesterday, haven't heard back yet, *weekend* but not a good sign for a viper top notch stuff. Anyone hear have a cure, b4 doing the whole return thing?

Back again,,, remote for the 5706v had a blank screen, wouldn't charge, for days,,, and then just magically came back on,,, battery was dead, but it did charge, and now works fine. Can't say why. In the meantime, I purchased a new LCD remote,(I wanted 2 anyway) and they are both working, alarm R/S works fine now too. Thanks for all your help here on this forum. Now I just need a bigger dash for all the wires. Ha.
