hello all.

Its been a while since I posted here. Just got a new car and trying to install a Hornet 727T in it. upgrade to factory keyless entry.

My one question is that on the car 2008 Mazda 3, the door lock an dunlock is one wire. The lock is a negative trigger going through a 1Kohm resistor and unlock is just a straight negative trigger. Im at a total loss as to what relay system to use.

Any advice?

Wire like this: use two relays. Lock and unlock wire to each relay 85.
Then good ground to each 87, 12V+ constant to each 86 then from 30 of the lock relay to the wire from 30 of the unlock relay to the vehicle wire.
I suggest using a diode on each relay between 85 and 86, 1N4004 with the cathode (band) towards 86.

Thanks for the input.

Im guessing that the single wire lock and unlock is if you want to make the alarm system lock and unlock your doors.

What I want is the wires themselves from the doors. the actual signal from the doors when they lock and unlock. would my safest bet be to just go directly from the door lock motors to relays?

The way I showed is much simpler but if you want here's a diagram for the motor wires:-91D_mazda3.bmp
The way I've done it it will give you driver priority unlock. If you don't want that then go for my previous post. simpler and you need one less relay and diode.

OK. I,m confused now. What i am trying to install is a DEI Hornet 727T which is a keyless entry upgrade. What it does is arm and disarm by sensing when the door locks are locked or unlocked.

I am assuming that what we mentioned above is for having the alarm system do the locking and unlocking of doors? If so that is not what I need. I just need for this module to sense when the doors are locked and unlocked.

would this work? Although I would need a separate one for the disarm/defeat wire coming from the passenger unlock wire which I have no clue what color it is.

Sorry, I've been giving you wrong information posted_image
Connect green arm input on 727t to vehicle's BLACK / YELLOW motor wire and blue disarm input to BLACK/ white PJB 46 pin plug labelled JO5 pins AP and L respectively, no relays required.

Awesome. Thats exactly what I needed to confirm. I wasnt 100% sure if I needed relays or not.

Now, the 727t has a disarm defeat wire that goes from the passenger unlock to the 727T. Would you happen to know which wire is the passenger unlock?

One more question.

Does this wire only activate once you press the unlock on the key fob twice?

Yes if you have priority unlocking; that is you have to activate the fob twice to open all bar the driver's door, it's your car, you tell me!

Yep. Thats how it works. I'll be installing the alarm this weekend. I'll report back once done. Thanks so much for the info.

OK. So i was able to identify all the wires for lock and unlock. I can't tell what voltage level they are since my old fluke hand held DMM isn't fast enough to take the pulse reading.

I'm wondering if I do need to add relays here to boost the signal?

Why? Doesn't it work?

I guess i will try it first and see if it works.

One strange thing I noticed is that when I hit unlock the lock wire has about 500mv on its line. not sure if that will be a problem or not.

Stop!   You're over analysing this! Just go ahead and do it!!!

Hey man. Thanks for your help. I was able to get this installed and working today. I tapped into all the wires right at the fuse box right behind the glove box and just ran a power wire directly from the battery as I didn't feel comfy grabbing power from inside the car circuits.

When unlocking/ disarming am getting .5v  in the lock wire ( J05 pin AP ) this seems to be causing issues. My fiancee used the car today and she unlocked it ( it chirped to confirm unlock ) went to open the door and the alarm went off. I can't reproduce this so I am not sure what to think.

Should I install the door lock pulse adapter on page 17 as good meaure?

Or go to the downloads/manuals section, look for Mazda/Ford normally closed door trigger".

Alarm has been working great for the past couple of weeks. I just have to play with getting the shock sensor just right since it seems to be a bit sensitive. Planning on adding a glass break sensor and a battery back up.

I didnt add the ignition controlled doo rlock and unlock because I couldnt figure out to how wire both of those to the 1 wire with the resistor.

Nothing to wire, it's in the programming.

OK. This alarm has been reliable and working great for a couple of months now. I want to add the automatic door lock and unlock feature that is built into the 727T.

Would this work coming off of the 727T module?

Try programming it, no reason why not.

Im from canada..and i have 2007 M3 Sedan Auto Trans with keyless entry...i bought a compustar 6000AS..im in need of help of how i am going to connect the unlock wire and lock wire and door trigger input of the aftermarket alarm to my car..it says that my car has one wire unlock and lock system "(lock is a negative trigger thru a 1000 ohm resistor, unlock is a straight negative trigger, must use relays!!)", how would i connect if id like a driver priority unlock??..and for door trigger it says "diode isolate each", how do i connect the diodes to alarm wire door trigger input (where is the anode side and cathode side?)??..anyone can explain this into more detail?? thanks a lot..
