I got mine 5901 installed by bestbuy and Im having problems. Everytime or 2 out 3 times when I leave the car and activate the security alarm, a few seconds later the alarm rings like crazy. On my remote it says trunk open and like everybody else I make sure the truck in closed real tight but the same problem occurs and it annoys me.

I will get back to bestbuy at the weekend but I would like your take from experience what you think is the problem with my alarm going on when I activate the system so that I can tell bestbuy whats the problem.

Depending on how they installed it the trunk can show on the display as being open when really it is an issue with the hood pin if they installed one. If they did try disconnecting it at the hood pin. It should be just when you lift up the hood, cant miss it. Just un plug it and see if you still have the same issue. If it resolves the issue then have them adjust the height of the hood pin and try again or replace the hood pin if it is still an issue.
