Needing an alarm for a 01 Civic. doesn't need to be the latest and greatest. Just need basic protection and door lock and unlock. Trying to keep it under $100.

What say you guys?

Thanks I was thinking on these lower end Vipers also. I'll read into that one but here is the one I was looking at.

Viper 211HV

One thing you need to look into is the ease and availability of replacement or extra remote controls.

We sell so many alarms because people went to Jo Blow audio (Who is now shut down) to purchase some no name alarm.  Their remote has failed and they do not even know what brand to look for.  There is a shop in town that sells Viper, seems that their remotes are always a bit more pricy than the Audiovox Prestige units.

We retail the Audiovx Prestige APS25C for 80 dollars.  Replacement or extra remotes are 30 dollars each.

I think that 211hv is just a keyless system, i could be mistaken.

I'll be going with the Viper 350Plus. I can get one new off of EBAY for less than $70 shipped.

One question I have is that the door lock an dunlock is a negative trigger. Do I need relays on these to lock / unlock the doors on keyless entry?

No relays needed, you may need an actuator however for the driver's door, don't buy stuff of e-bay.

he

Thanks for the advice. I don't think the actuator is needed as I can sit inside the car and hit the lock button and the locks will lock on both doors.

So I pulled the wriing info for the car and I have a question. Which wires do I tap into for the keyless entry feature?

Pwr Door Lock: WHT/BLU - DRIVERS FUSE PANEL
Pwr Door Unlock: WHT/GRN - DRIVERS FUSE PANEL
DR. Mtr Unlck: YEL/GRN + DRIVERS FUSE PANEL
DR. Motor lock: YEL/BLK + DRIVERS FUSE PANEL

The first two wires that you have listed. Also test before.

OK so I got my Viper 350 Plus. I have a question about the door lock wires.

H2/A Green is (- ) Lock ( + ) Unlock

H2/C Blue is ( - ) unlock ( + ) Lock

In my application my unlock and lock are both ( - ) pulses.

Do I have to program these in any way? what does the + signify?

you do not even need to worry about the positive pulses, but basically when one wire is sending a negative pulse, the other is sending a small positive pulse.

Just need to connect your blue to unlock, green to lock, and you're good to go.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply. The only tihng I didnt notice on this alarm is that it doesnt have a pulsed output for the horn. Im ok with it though since this install is for the mother in law anyway.

Thanks again.

One more question. Should I connect the dome light supervision wire to the - door trigger line that way the - signal turns on the lights when disarm?

If its sending a positive pulse should I put some diodes to block that?

No need for the diodes, and simply connect the supervision to your domelight wire if you want that feature.
