I have a audiovox 921 installed for about 3 yrs now, all of a sudden its not receiving a signal from my transmitter to start, I had two so I exchanged modules and its the same thing, I had the door open when I tried and thought it needed closing, sure enough it turned on the dash but no start, now its back to not receiving the signal from the transmitter, I did the key dance and checked the inpouts and all sounds OK just as I configured it, it has power. Any ideas

Thanks

Helps to know what kind of car it is.

What did you try replacing when you say "module"....the main brain that goes under the dash?

I would try the following, especially if you have a second unit around to experiment with:

1. Reprogram remote(s).

2. Replace remote(s) with those from your other unit.

3. Plug in antenna from your other unit.

4. Temporarily run new antenna cable between antenna and brain.

I would try the following, especially if you have a second unit around to experiment with:

1. Reprogram remote(s). Configured it as per instructions

2. Replace remote(s) with those from your other unit. Tried that, does the same thing

3. Plug in antenna from your other unit. It gets the signal,it goes through all the phases, goes to the part to warm glow plugs and shuts off

4. Temporarily run new antenna cable between antenna and brain.

It now recieves all transponder signals but does not start,it goes through all phases ,but after the glow plug phase the unit shuts off before starting the car.

Would always help if you'd mention what type of car this is in.....

And I assume you're talking about the Prestige APS921 2-way one-button remote starter, correct?

"Positive shutdown" pretty much means it's the brake wire. There should be both a BROWN / black wire, and a brown wire, coming from the remote starter.

Applying positive voltage to either of these wires would make the remote starter shut off for safety.

Typically, the BROWN / black is connected to the wire that powers the car's brake lights, and the solid brown wire would be taped up and not connected to anything.

Also, that unit should have two 30-amp fuses. The fuse on the RED / white wire powers the brain's circuitry, as well as the Ignition 1 (blue) and Ignition 2 (green) outputs.

The second 30-amp fuse on the red wire, powers only the Accessory (purple) and Start (yellow) outputs.

It's possible to have the fuse on the red wire blow, but the fuse on the RED / white is still good...........in this case the brain will power up, but it won't crank the starter. Check both fuses.

Hi

It a 300C 07 CRD

Yes your correct about the positive shut down, this is because I touched the brake, so I let the diagnostics to its thing after I let the remote stop itself after 3 times.

The diagnostic I got was low or no tach signal, I checked and all is OK there,it connected to the injector, its the right one, this has been working fo the last two years

fuses are OK

It was the starter wire connected to the starter wire on the remote that was not clipped in properly on the ignition source, all OK now

Hi

I tried to start the car via remote. My remote module has power,it can go into configuration mode and clicks with each press of the LED switch. However when I press my transmitter button nothing happens, no click in the box, so I switched it out with a spare I have ,same thing, it will not even respond when I go into configuration mode, so I thought maye its the attenna reciever so I swithed that out, did not work.

Problem units are not responding to my transmiiter, any ideas

I did follow instuctions to program the transmitter but the unit does not respond. No indication the unit has learned
