Hey guys well ill start to say that i have a prostart car starter/alarm system and i went to start it this morning but the start failled due to my engine takes a while to turn over sometimes. Soo the prostart has a two cycles. If the car dosent start the first time it will do another cycle and re attempt the start mode. Well between these two cycles wen it dint start the first time i decided to put my key in the ignition and start it my self. Thats wen everything started . The car went on with the alarm chirping. It was loud so i cut the wire to the speaker. Then i turned the key off and the car wouldnt shut off. Nothing would let me turn off the car soo i had to plug the intake on the engine lol. Now after all conclusion the protart keeps my ignition on and i cant turn my car off without unpluging the batt. I decided to unplug the prostart modual black box and everything went off but now car still wont start for some reason dash lights come on like normaly but wen i turn the key to start it clicks and nothing happens . Perhaps the prostart got to the factory alarm system in the car? And disabled the start feature? I need my car its the only vehicle i have and if anyone can figuere it out would be amazingly greatful thanks by the way the vehicule is a 1999 Pontiac grand prix gtp

Check the fuses.

No, just do it and at the same time disconnect the Prostart.

Where are the fuses located? Is it the ones inline with the prostart power wires?

Yes, you either have a blown alarm feed fuse or the unit needs a disconnect-reconnect, i.e. a reboot.
I'm only suggesting a physical look at since I've no idea how it was wired let alone know WTH a Pontiac GP even is.

You might even try rebooting your remotes or checking their batteries.

The alarm module may have a starter kill built in. If the starter never tries to start the car then that is most likely the cause.

Another thing that it could be is that the remote start was sending the security bypass information and you provided your own security bypass information with the key - some security systems will freak out if two keys are detected at the same time.

Alright so to disable the starter kill is to reset it like ppl are saying above?

Check to see if your starter lead at the ignition has been cut, if so join the two leads together.
