'03 BMW Z4 Pass door lock won't actuate
I am having a brain aneurysm trying got figure out the locks on my Z4.
I used to be able to do this and I have slowly relearned everything I used to know about installing alarms and remote starts. But this is killing me.
I found the single wire(yellow/red) for toggling both the locks when grounded. I dont think that will work for me cause the viper 5902 I am installing gives a pulse every time you hit the button giving me the undesired, locked disarm and unlocked armed modes, guess we could call that a sync issue.
So I switched to the 5 wire system and now for the life of me I can't remember why (translated what I did wrong) to make it so that only the drivers door moves with the alarm. Albeit in the proper sync.
Oh and if anyone knows how to integrate with the comfort closure system that would be awesome. But for now I would be happy with both locks working.
Thanks for any and all assistance

Go to the driver's door kick panel you will find thin WHITE/ black and blue/red wires, both NEG. One is lock, the other unlock.
Programme the comfort close and once done you will have proper locking and window close.
Use an aux timed at 30 seconds, connect to the lock wire to achieve roof close.
Just about EVERY part of the install, including tach can be found in the section to the left of the steering column.

Well I feel I must have forgotten something major. (Probably something basic.)
I believe I found the wires you are talking about. Drivers kick in the loom that comes out next to the woofer.
They appear to rest at neutral and when given a neg pulse I get nothing. With my VOM hooked in to one and the other to chassis ground I get nothing when I turn the key in the drivers door.
If I use my test probe they each show neutral at rest and when locking or unlocking I get a momentary(key turn dependent) dim red light. I think indicating that I have the wires you speak of.
As a side note I did find independent window up/dwn -triggers in the same loom
As always thanks for your assistance

Look in a small heavily cloth taped loom coming from the door and joining a vertical loom. Tach is a thin black pin 9 on the data socket, next to that is a puddle light, RED / blue (POS trigger) for the dome light, dome light supervision not required.

Well I tried and tried, found the thin blue/red and white black in the loom coming from the door. I even removed the door panel and found them in there could never get them to trigger the locks or do anything other than what I described B4. (seems that maybe they trigger with a certain resistance to ground) are there any other BMWs that do that?
So for now I have given up on that route. I snagged the white and blue wires at the kick panels and went 5wi reversing.
Works for now. And I think I wil try triggering the top open/close wires at the switch in the dash. Just being aware that the remote start must be active for the roof to go up or down.
Thanks again for your help.
