Im getting ready to wire my ignition so i can turn the key to on and push a button to start it. But i have a few questions.

I know that the red wire is +12v and so is the pink wire. The yellow wire is the starter i believe and the white and orange are for the instrument panel and radio and i think the blue keeps the engine running after its started. Please correct me if im wrong.

But my question is why are there two +12v wires. When i cut the yellow wire and run it to my push button which +12v wire should i tap into?

Typically when there are two wires that means there are two separate circuits with separate fuses. The best way to install a push button start (or any other type of high current interface) is to find the 12vdc feed that normally feeds the circuit you are trying to power. So, in this case, you would need to determine which 12vdc lead powers the starter when you turn the key to the crank position. If you use a different feed you could possibly blow the fuse on that feed as it may not have been designed to handle the extra load you are putting on it.

99 Ram Kevin, it took me half a cup of Twinings Morning tea to find it!
Once you've found the starter wire by testing, don't assume because our source or any other says that "this is the colour".
Live on ignition whilst cranking (AKA Ignition 1) to switch, switch out put to Bosch/Tycho, etc. standard "cube" style automotive relay,
terminal 86.
Ground to terminal 85.
Constant 12V+ live, (take from fuse box battery input), fused at 30 amps to 87.
Terminal 30 to starter wire.

Is a relay required? or could i use a push button rated at 40 amps alone?
