Hi there, I install a Prostart CT-5072 today in a 2002 mazda protege 5.  For some reason as soon as I powered up the system it automatically turned on the parking lights.  I tried to program the system to no availablity.  The lights are supposed to come on for 20 secs and go off.  I'm getting consistent 12volts out of the park light wire.  I've gone over various wiring diagrams for the specific vehicle hoping maybe I wired it up wrong.   I did not hook up the door lock wires as I'm gonna retain the factory key fob for the keyless entry.

Does the unit have an internal parking light relay? If it is constantly outputting 12vdc, even with the parking light wire disconnected from the vehicle, most likely the brain is bad.

I'm not sure about the internal relay.  However when I disconnected the line from the parking light wiring in the car it was constantly putting out 12volts.  I figure the brain is dead.  I'm going to replace it and see what happens.   I find the unit a little weird as it has 2 12volt main power supplies going into it.  when I pull the fuse from one, the unit goes dead, when I pull the fuse from the other, nothing happens.  I think I just have a bum module.  Thanks for the help.

One feed is most likely for the brain itself and the other is most likely for accessories and/or remote start.

ahh yeah that makes sense.  one thing I did do wrong, was I hooked up the parking brake light wire, where the manual says thats only for manual transmissions.  I don't think that would've fried the unit though.  I disconnected it after I realized it was only for manual trans.
